Christmas ‘Half the World Away’
John Lewis, Britain's favorite retailer:
The John Lewis Partnership's 90,000 Partners own the leading UK retail businesses of Waitrose and John Lewis, as well as John Lewis Broadband and John Lewis Insurance services. Our founder's vision of a successful business powered by its people and its principles defines our unique company today. The profits and benefits created by our success are shared by all our Partners.
Sustainability is critical to the Partnership – it's written into our Constitution. In our 2014 review, we've explored how we're responding to a wide range of issues across our value chain – from the way we source our products to how we engage with customers. We've highlighted how our co-ownership model and investment in Partners continues to be a better way of doing business. And we've outlined some of our key achievements this year, showing our Partners' efforts are ensuring our success in the face of new challenges.
"Now that's the spirit, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Mate"
So from Britain's favorite retailer during this Holiday Season comes a story of a young girl called Lily. Looking at the moon through her family telescope one night, she is amazed at what she finds, a man on the moon. Lily watches on as our man goes about his chores, all alone up there. She becomes determined to get something to the moon, to send him a message and show him that someone down here is thinking of him. The music is ‘Half the World Away’ performed by Aurora, the original song was by Oasis.
